See here few "Cars from the future" from 40th Tokyo Motor
Show 2007
Honda PUYO
‘PUYO’ is a
Japanese onomatopoeia that expresses the sensation of touching the vehicle’s
soft body. It is meant to convey a warm, friendly impression.
The Honda PUYO represents a new idea in mobility that brings together
‘clean’, ‘safe’ and ‘fun’ functionality in an environmentally responsible,
people-friendly minimalist design featuring an ultra-high efficiency, small
frame and fuel cell technology to please both users and onlookers alike.
Toyota 1/X Concept
The Toyota 1/X
wants to redefine what it means to be environmentally conscious. The
Toyota 1/X (pronounced "one-Xth") has the same interior space as the
Prius but only weighs 420 kg.
The Toyota 1/X combines fossil fuel consumption-reducing FFV
technology and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with 500cc displacement.
Toyota Hi-CT Concept
The Toyota Hi-CT
concept car is a departure from conventional cars. The Toyota Hi-CT
wants to offer new ways of being "cool" and new ways of having fun.
Toyota says that the Hi-CT concept was inspired by the
thinking and lifestyle of younger drivers.
Toyota RiN concept
The Toyota RiN is
yet another new concept car from Toyota that will be presented at the Tokyo
Motor Show. The Toyota RiN addresses clean and healthy living and
focuses on increased comfort. The aim of the Toyota RiN concept is to
determine the drivers to turn their attention to the environment and to
nature.
Yahama Tesseract concept
Yahama is
saying that the Tesseract concept is about the same width as a motorcycle
and it leans like a bike too, meaning that you should still be able to weave
your way around those cones (or lanes) and parking should be a piece of
cake. In an effort to go green, the company has also announced that the
Yamaha Tesseract will be a hybrid, getting its power through a V-Twin engine
and an electric motor. No word on power output.
Nissan Pivo 2
Nissan will present an
interesting concept at this year's Tokyo Motor Show - the Nissan Pivo 2.
Of course the Nissan Pivo 2 comes after the Nissan Pivo
concept presented at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. The most important features
of the Nissan Pivo 2 concept car are: a robotic agent to share every
trip (does anyone remember R2-D2?), a 360 degree turning cabin and 90
degrees turning wheels.
Mazda Taiki
Mazda Taiki reflects one possible
direction for a future generation of Mazda sports cars aimed at helping
create a sustainable society. The fourth concept car in the Nagare design
series, Mazda Taiki further evolves the “flow” theme to establish a
breathtaking presence that clearly distinguishes it as the next in the
series, and which visually expresses the atmosphere – called taiki in
Japanese – that wraps the Earth in its protective mantle. The basic
proportions begin with the stretched coupe form of a front-engine
rear-wheel-drive layout, the short overhangs, and the liberating feel of an
all-glass canopy. The challenge to create “a design that visually expresses
the flow of air” was inspired by the image of a pair of Hagoromo – the
flowing robes that enable a celestial maiden to fly in Japanese legend –
floating down from the sky.
Nissan Round Box
Round Box
Youth-Oriented Compact Convertible Provides Occupants Senses of Speed and
exhilaration
The Nissan Round Box, with its compact convertible design, represents a new
take on open-air motoring, providing exhilaration for all passengers - not
just the driver - through its uniquely shared experience of fresh air
stimulation, a sensation of speed and easy-to-use high-spec features.
The Nissan Round Box features an environmentally friendly
turbocharged direct injection gasoline engine mated to Nissan's advanced
Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It is also equipped with a
number of safety systems based on Nissan's Safety Shield* concept, including
Around View Monitor and Distance Control Assist System (DCAS).
Nissan Intima concept
Intima

Comfort, Relaxation, Fine Quality and Visual Enjoyment

design, hospitality, relaxation and high quality with high levels of
functionality and advanced technology. To date, the Modern Living Concept

Tiida and Sylphy. Now, the Nissan Intima saloon takes the Modern
Living Concept into a new dimension with an interior that invites passengers
into a stimulating world of artistic forms, materials and illumination.
