After three years of blood, sweat and tears, in all corners of the world, British tennis player Robert Dee has finally won his first match.
The 21-year-old, dubbed the 'worst player in the world', grinded out a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Arzhang Derakhshani in a qualifying section of a futures event at the 55th attempt.
Victory for journeyman Dee, who registered a career ranking high of 1466 in May 2005, has proved a double-edge sword.

Brazilians have long held a reputation for being the giants of football, now they can also lay claim to being the first country with a team made up entirely of dwarves.
The players may be lacking in height, but after choosing the team name Gigantes do Norte - the Giants of the North - it appears they have a generous sense of humour.
Managed by professional coach Carlos Lucena, the Giants were put together in an effort to raise the profile of dwarves in Brazilian society and challenge "sizeist" attitudes.... |

Maybe men had it right all along: It doesn't take long to satisfy a woman in bed. A survey of sex therapists concluded the optimal amount of time for sexual intercourse was 3 to 13 minutes. The findings, to be published in the May issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, strike at the notion that endurance is the key to a great sex life.
If that sounds like good news to you, don't cheer too loudly. The time does not count foreplay, and the therapists did rate sexual intercourse that lasts from 1 to 2 minutes as "too short."....

A pen is spun in the hand, flicked from the little finger to other fingers, then tossed and bounced off the thumb before being twirled in the palm.
Ryuki Omura, a 16-year-old Japanese high school student, has become the first nationwide pen-spinning champion with such slick maneuvers, a group devoted to the pastime said on Monday.
Omura was among the 16 finalists chosen from 276 video entries to showcase his moves in Tokyo on Sunday in a contest organized by the Pen Spinning Association Japan....

A court in Macedonia has ordered the government to pay a $3,500 fine to a local bee-keeper over a bear that had been stealing his honey, national media said on Friday.
The case came about after a man from the village of Krivogastani, near the town of Bitola, appealed to a local court, claiming damage to his property.
He had initially tried to keep the bear away from his beehives by playing loud Serbian turbo-folk music.
"I tried to distract the bear with lights and music because I had heard that bears are afraid of that," Zoran Kiseloski told the Dnevnik daily....

Jessica Gaude differs greatly from her pals. With 222
kilograms, she is the fattest child in the world.
She eats 10,000 calories each day in Coca-Colas, 15
hamburgers with fries and several kilograms of chocolate.
What she eats in one day some children eat in half a year.
Her breakfast consists of white bread, potato chips and
two litres of coke. And she wants more.
When she last visited the doctor four years ago she had
110 kilograms. Unfortunately, she can no longer run and
instead of walking she drags herself on the floor. Under
such bodily weight her bones have already become
distorted.
Mother Carolyn gives her daughter whatever the child
wants. In the first week after she was born, when the baby
cried because of stomach pains, the mother calmed her by
feeding her with a bottle because she thought the child
was hungry. “I gave her the bottle and she wanted more and
more. It was not enough for her and she was constantly
hungry”, Jessica’s mother says.....
